It’s Finally Official, Microsoft & Yahoo Make A Deal and announced an agreement that will change the Advertising space in web search market.

Microsoft Bing will be the search engine and Yahoo will handle the sale. Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz stated that both Advertisers and publishers will be benefited from unified platform. He also added that the deal will help to compete with the rival company Google. It’s a 10 year agreement and Microsoft will acquire an exclusive 10 year license to Yahoo’s core search technologies. Bing is the exclusive algorithmic search and paid search platform for Yahoo! sites.

Bing Users Clicks Twice More Than Google Users

Organic users of Bing are twice more likely to click on the Ad results than the Google users, according to Chitika (Ad network). So, Bing seems more commercial than Google and Yahoo. Visitors on Bing that comes from search results are 55% more likely to click on the Ad than they come from Google. After studying click through rates of 32 million ad impressions across its network of 50k sites they found that Bing visitors CTR are 1.5 %, Google CTR .97 and Yahoo’s CTR is 1.24%.

Microsoft-Yahoo Search Ad Deal

Microsoft and Yahoo is on the final stage to search Ad deal and could be announced on next week. Microsoft-Yahoo search deal “imminent” now. A recent comScore (SCOR) report for June showed Google with a 65 percent share, Yahoo at 19.5 percent and Microsoft at just 8.4 percent. And MSFT is trying hard to increase their search share. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz is deeply involved with the talks. Last year Yahoo rejected Microsoft’s $47.5 billion takeover bid, but Microsoft needs Yahoo at any cost so talks are started again this year on May and now its in final stage.
